   How Moisture Enters A Basement

Illustration of how moisture enters a basement

  1. Moisture on walls and floor from excess humidity or condensation.
    Solution: Humidity/Odor Control System.
  2. Water enters through cracks in the floor. It also enters through seams where the floor meets the wall from hydrostatic pressure (water building up from below the floor and being forced into the basement).
    Solution: Pressure Relief System.
  3. Water enters through cracks, seams, or other penetrations in the walls. This is due to water draining or being forced through the walls.
Solution: Exterior System or Crack Injection Solution.
  4. Water flows over the top of the walls due to improper grading. It could also be caused by porches or additions being improperly sealed.
Solution: Contact Seal-Tite® for outside drainage options.
