The problem with tar and asphalt coatings is that they are biodegradable. This means that bacteria in the surrounding soil actually eat the coating. After a period of time, the so called “protective” coating on your foundation breaks down and eventually disappears.

The solution to the problem is to apply a non-biodegradable thermoplastic coating which can withstand over 231 feet of head pressure.
